sm-girl-sandwichA portion of the proceeds from the Experience New Moon event will go to help The Oregon Food Bank. We will also be collecting food donations. As we are nearing winter and the holiday season, our hearts go out to the increasing number of unemployed and homeless Oregonians and we want to help. The Oregon Food Bank is the hub of 915 hunger-relief agencies. They serve all of Oregon and Clark County in Washington.

Did you know?

There are more than 22,000 homeless children in Oregon.

1 in 26 children in Oregon do not know where they will get their next meal.

Those most likely to need emergency food are children, working families, the elderly, the retired, the disabled. They are our neighbors, and they need our help.

The Oregon Food Bank needs nutritious, shelf-stable, packaged food. This includes:

  • Canned vegetables, fruits and meats
  • Flour
  • Oats
  • Soup
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Nonfat dry milk
  • Pasta
  • Nuts
  • Cooking oils
  • Cereal
  • Pancake mix
  • Breakfast bars

Bins will be located at locations throughout St. Helens as well as at the event headquarters downtown. We ask that everyone come ready to donate. As a thank you, Scavenger Hunt participants that donate food will receive an extra entry into the drawing.
